Our Story

January 2007 – Met at Ruby Tuesday’s after Jenny had gone square dancing with friends. Nate showed up with some other friends. Remember meeting, but not much else.
January 2007 – Nate went to Jenny’s house with some friends to watch football.
January – February 2007 – Jenny traveled to India and Kenya
February 2007 – Nate was invited to Jenny’s house through some friends for dinner. Nate and Jenny ended up talking before the other friends showed up for almost an hour. They were intrigued by how much they had in common and would cite this as “the beginning of finding each other to be interesting...”
February 2007 – Nate attends Jenny’s birthday party with friends. Jenny is excited that he brought a present for her.
March 2007 – Nate attends a going away get together for Jenny with some friends before she travels to Bolivia.
Upon her return, Nate stops by a friend’s house on the way home from his sister’s wedding. Jenny is glad he showed up.

April 2007 – Jenny and Nate plan friend’s birthday parties together, phone calls are frequent as they “plan”.
May 2007 – Jenny travels to Canada and Nate emails her daily. They also chat on the phone a couple of times.
Nate and Jenny plan a Memorial Day camping trip for the group of friends. At this point, they realize they like planning things together (and we still do!)
Jenny realizes Nate is a great and handy guy to have around. Spiritually strong and very capable. Nate and Jenny have some time at the end of the weekend to catch a couple hours talking together.
June 2007 – Jenny travels to California to her best friend from high school’s wedding. Nate calls and emails often. He even drove her to the airport at 4:00am... Hmm... Jenny tells her best friend that she really likes this guy, but doesn’t think he’s interested.
July 2007 – Jenny and Nate plan a trip to the beach for the Fourth of July for their friends. During the day, they spend a couple of hours flying a kite together on the beach (something that still gets them picked on by their friends...)
They plan another day-trip to the beach for friends later in July.
August 2007 – They plan another trip to the beach, this time a camping trip, with friends. At this point, they are certainly growing closer... They stay up chatting late into the night. Jenny continues to remain in awe of his skills. Ha.
From May to August, the emails, phone calls, and times together increase significantly (riding horses, kayaking and canoeing, hiking, making meals together, etc.). Jenny is fairly certain Nate might like her, but she knows one thing: she REALLY likes him!
In late August, Jenny, Nate, and some friends travel to Mississippi to work on hurricane reconstruction with MDS. Nate and Jenny sneak out to walk on the beach at night, and in the morning, watch the sun rise over the ocean. Nate even conveniently comes up with a way to hold Jenny’s hand walking on the railings of the pier. Very smooth.
August 25, 2007 – Upon returning from the trip, Nate asks Jenny if she would like to go on a hike to “talk about our relationship”. She agrees and has a very hard time sleeping that night.

August 26, 2007 – Nate takes Jenny to Money Rocks where he asks her to begin a relationship with him. Jenny happily agrees. Special Note: Nate was wearing a Mount Hood, Oregon t-shirt September through November is all a blur as they spend increasing amounts of time together.
Christmas 2007 – Nate tells Jenny he loves her for the first time. Jenny is elated.
January 2008 – Jenny travels to Ethiopia and India. Nate decides he is going to marry her while she is gone and drops many hints in emails and phone calls. I guess "distance does make the heart grow fonder".
February 2008 – Jenny travels to Oregon with Nate for a work trip, and to visit some of her family. She is fairly certain he will propose while in Oregon.
February 11, 2008 – Nate proposes to Jenny on Mount Hood! She says “YES!” and they share their first kiss. Sweet!
